iPed, ipad or apad

I've had my eye on a ipad. Big
Apple fan and user but at $500.00 a
bit pricey but then I found some of
the Asian clones running Android.
Has anyone tried one? Thoughts?

I just checked out a few of the clones. Only Samsung's appears to have legs. The others are underpowered and available only in China. No word on availability of the Samsung models. At the moment, the biggest announced has a 7-inch screen. No price yet.

It seems the cheapest entries have so little power that they're s....l....o....w.

This is the Samsung device: http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/tablet-pcs/278845/samsung-slate-picture-leaked

Looks nice. The reviews of the clones has been
hit or miss with negative remarks about battery
life and low ram. Most seem to have 128 mg
Ram. Android doesn't need much and most seem
to use Chrome or Opera as their browser so that's
fine but 128 of Ram....
The ipad is super cool but $500.00.
