Hosted Customers IP Changes

Effective today, all MuseCube hosting accounts will be served from a separate ip address on our network. This change should be transparent, and you will see no change to the way your website is served.

There are two main reasons for this change.

This change is designed to have some impact on SEO efforts. In some cases, search engines can penalize sites which share a single IP address. Providing a separate IP for hosting accounts will prevent any issues with blacklisting as a result of shared IP addresses.

Secondly, in the future we will be providing different profile view options in addition to your hosting account. This change will allow you to have both a website, and a "profile" with MuseCube, if desired. This feature will be explained later, when available.

If you have a domain with us, and have control over your own DNS, you will need to contact me to obtain the new DNS configuration.

Again, you should see no obvious change to the way your website is hosted, as this change is purely technical.

Thanks -
