The path I have chosen in art is one of expressing my imagination and experiences. It gives me the chance to find myself and let out my feelings about the wonders of the world I am living in. That’s why my work is quite anecdotic. It works for me as the main way to immortalize myself and my experiences thru this life. Whether it is a place, a moment, someone, or just the special way I feel about something in the spiritual, mystical, mythical, metaphysical or psychological way. I reckon there is a quest on the motifs of my paintings, a quest about letting the magic of things being captured as they first appeared to my mind. I don’t paint the reality I see. I paint the picture that my mind transforms or distorts, those fantasies which my brain makes, fruit of the many lectures I make and from my desires and fantasies. It is also a way to apprehend what otherwise I cannot. Of course, influences as pre-Columbian art from Latin America and all the artistic and cultural manifestations that are given in the Caribbean are very important ingredients regarding an identity that I still have to create.
