I am a the photographer and owner of Soul Gaze Photography. In 2009, I founded Southern Kentucky Photographer's Club and was accepted into The League of Creative Infrared Photographers. My writing and photography can be seen locally in The Amplifier (Bowling Green, Kentucky) where I currently write monthly photography articles with accompanying photographs. Several of my images have been printed in The Glasgow Daily Times with one featured on the homepage covering the May 2010 flooding. My work can also be found featured in multiple locations online.
I've had a relationship with photography since my childhood, starting at 8 years old with a Kodak 110 which I carried with me everywhere. I still carry a camera with the same dedication. I proudly photograph year-round in all forms of weather. As a photographer, I'm able to photograph the conditions I see while storm chasing/spotting and share them with the NWS to assist with public education. I'm a trained Spotter and hope to encourage everyone to attend a spotter training class to better understand what to report enabling communities to better protect themselves during severe weather. In 2010 I founded SOKY Skywarn with the goal to bring local storm spotters/chasers together and provide resources for weather education. This project is currently still under construction with plans for completion before the 2011 severe weather season.
As an on-location, natural light, lifestyle photographer, I capture what I see naturally with an artistic touch. I take my time preferring to deliver several great images rather than hundreds of various shots with little artistic value. I am always eager to try new things and enjoy the challenges that new clients sometimes bring. I love to experiment with my portraits, blending lifestyle, traditional styles and the occasional infrared. My favorite form of photography is Infrared photography because of the unique creative quality to the style and I enjoy the challenges involved. My personal work is available for purchase as custom products or fine art prints. I create custom products, digital manipulations and utilize several years of Photoshop editing to further enhance my photography. I am self taught, but spend countless hours behind my camera practicing or behind my computer editing and researching new skills and techniques. I also have several years experience singing and acting and gladly model part-time for other photographers. I reside outside Glasgow KY with my Husband, two children and several pets.
