I am a location based photographer and not currently working from a studio. I am planning to open a studio from my home sometime in the next year-two years. I'd love to meet other photographers and also people willing to model on a paid or TFP (trade for prints) basis. I also am interested in modeling for other photographers or doing freelance work. Soul Gaze Photography - Experience
My journey with photography started in my childhood, with a Kodak 110, which I still have today. Just like then, I carry my camera with me everywhere. I have self-taught myself various photography methods and Photoshop techniques that enable me to be a creative photographer. I made the transition from film to digital in 2003 with a small Canon A70. In 2007 I did two photoshoots for a local band (Anonymous) and after the success bought a Canon S5IS and started to reserch DSLR's. I also brought Soul Gaze Photography online seeking opinions and critiques to improve my work. I eventually discovered infrared photography and researched how to do it. I purchased a Hoya RM72 filter and after many successful shots, was instantly addicted. In 2009 I bought my first DSLR a Nikon D40 in order to take better photos while still being able to do infrared (not all cameras are sensitive to infrared). While using it, I've learnt that there will always be something to learn as a photographer. Currently I photograph anything and everything that interests me. Infrared photography is still my favorite style. As a result I have spent alot of time traveling to various locations to capture some unique infrareds. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Besides my love for photography, I have 5 years customer service experience from my time at Wal-Mart. I worked in: Pets, Jewelry, Service Desk, fitting room/store phone and as the store's Risk Control Team Leader. I strived to make customers happy and made many loyal customers while working my way towards entry into the management program. I learned a lot during my five years there, but always knew that regardless of my goals in the company, art and photography have always been my passion and a part of who I am. I am no longer working for Walmart as of 2009 and am now focusing on my photography and raising my two children.
