My assistant is going away to school and looking for some books with diagrams etc, and I am at a loss for suggestions. He is looking for more about lighing and film processes/filtration and got a $100 gift cert for Barnes and Noble from a client of mine for xmas.

Any ideas? The Alex Larg books look like they will cost an arm and a leg so maybe one book of the pro lighting series is ok.

Thanks guys, he is going to NYU to study photography, so the photographers market is a big "DOH! I shoulda thought of that!"

The pro-liughting series is nice but pricey considering they are out of print, one book we found used on amazon was $97 for a book that cost $50 retail new.

the Steve Bavister books sound just right for him too.
