handcoloring a digital print?

i realize it sounds silly to want to handcolor a print that can be 'toned' in the computer, but has anyone done this?

i am considering trying some stains, watercolors, etc. i believe the effects cound be cool, but if the print is going to fall apart in a month, i will just avoid the whole thing.

just wondering....

I know that Jene Youtt used pastels on some of his color digital prints. Embellishing and making the matte print a one of a kind artist print. I know he loves Hahnenmuhle'sWilliam Turner paper But check out some forums on the internet.
