General information
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I'm a card carryin' member of AEA, SAG and AFTRA, I've been acting full-time (is there such a thing for that lower 99th percentile of actors like myself who aren't Leonardo DeCaprio?) for 10 years in NYC and Chicago. Before then (and concurrently the first 7 years) I was been pursuing Rock and Roll and Fine Art at a breakneck pace ever since college. I've worked onstage in both places, including some extensive work in Chi at the much heralded Steppenwolf Theatre.

As for my TV and film work, I've worked on soaps (One Life to Live, All My Children, As The World Turns, etc...), in primetime (Law and Order, Rescue Me, Law and order: Criminal Intent, Sex and the City, Hack, Third Watch, Deadline, Queens Supreme, Ed, Life on Mars etc...) on cable (MTV, HBO, VH1, Fuse), as a host (In Tune, MNY, Government TV, Indigo TV), done more than my share of cool leads in low-budget indie features (a few of which have gone to festivals, and a couple others that should've gone to festivals), and worked on a slew of big budget mooooovies in a lesser than lead acting capacity (though I've been told that there's a little yeller statue named Oscar waitin' for me in some plush closet in LA somewhere).

I've also done my time in litterally zillions upon zillions of short films (some quality, some... well, not), booked a plethara of print work, v/o jobs, and recorded/toured with many indie rock bands (my present band is called PERMISSION... see below). I was born in Little Italy, NYC (that's right yo-I'm an original), grew up here and in Western Mass, studied painting and sculpture at Skidmore College, spent two years in Chicago (where I was one of 17 actors chosen from over 500 nationwide to participate in the Steppenwolf Ensemble project, that which begat the School at Steppenwolf) and presently, when I'm not acting, playing music and ripping out chunks of my full head of hair trying to make my high rent, I am a relentless hobby photographer, superb ping pong player and frisbee thrower, uniquely gifted caricature artist and... a baseball aficionado.

Socially, I've got great friends up the ying yang, I adore women (and, thankfully, they seem to tolerate me as well) and there isn't a food or drink I don't like.

I try to stay busy, busy, busy always, and whenever I get an audition, I get a call back (if I don't in fact book the dang thing). The situation of course in this, dare I say it, semi-corrupt biz, is getting the bloody audition in the first place... Anyway, like any good actor, I've been looking into generating my own work. I started my own production company, and presently, we're developing some cool stuff (sorry, gotta keep that info on the down-low y'know, the hush hush n' stuff) and have our hands on a few super-fine feature film scripts... so... feel free to contact me, either via email at alexemanuel@nyc.rr.com or by phone at 646-325-8719 if you do or don't want to see/cast me, as you might want to invest in me in other ways. Either way, it would be a pleasure to meet with you, and at your scheduled convenience (I could also swing by on the fly and deliver an outrageously good monologue, or cold read for ya like there's no tomorrow).

As is the case of so many talented folks in this biz, I'm forever seeking the max-utmost in quality agency representation/good p.r.. I want someone, some group, entity and/or some thing by my side who gets me, pushes for me and sees that undeniable Sam Rockwellian (Orwellian?) Han Solo quality I have that makes me the acting double threat that I am (I'm pretty modest, I know, have to be). Hey, perhaps we could also hang socially and shoot the shinola over a drink or a coffee sometime too...

If you'd like to see/read more, you can find me at imdb (www.imdb.com/name/nm1218566/), on facebook and my myspace (www.myspace.com/starna). Now if you're still jonesing for an Al-fix, you can see me (yes, actually see me, as I do a monologue) at the fledgling www.sceneinteractive.com (just punch in my name and I'll spring right up, though I have not updated that thing since it's inception), as well as see me flex my improv comedic hosting backbone w/ mediocre new york (we have a myspace page too). I also have a plethara of clips scattered around the web and that I can send you. Lastly, you can always find me at Actors Access.com (and even within the indiewire network)...

Finally, you are highly encouraged to brave my volatile blog (speaking of not updating, sheesh!) I mean why not? It may be excavated for your reading pleasure (or displeasure)at www.rollomanhattan.blogspot.com.

Below is a more descriptive bio of me for your files, one that doesn't beat around the bush so much (damn I wish we'd beaten Bush so much... glad he's gone):
