Tianna Pourciau has been dancing and performing since the age of ten. Born to New York-native, Dewey Pourciau and New Orleans-native, Robin Manuel-Pourciau, Tianna was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. She went to Syrell’s School of Dance, a local dance school in New Orleans, where she trained in all forms of dance: modern, tap, ballet, hip-hop, lyrical, jazz, african & latin. She then went on to go to NOCCA, the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts, briefly during high school. She graduated from Eleanor McMain high school in 1995. Tianna attended the University of New Orleans, majoring in Business (Marketing).
Always having a love for theater, acting and movies, Tianna began actively pursuing opportunities in the film industry, landing extras roles for various movies such as “Just My Luck” starring Lindsay Lohan, “Last Holiday” starring Queen Latifah, and “Dracula 2000”. Tianna has also ventured into the world modeling doing local mall fashion shows and events.
Tianna, also a family woman has been blessed and supported by her husband and two children. Talia, her daughter, also a budding ballerina & little actor, is now 8 years old, and Taegen, her son is 5 years old. Her family became her inspiration and the driving force behind her quest for happiness in the arts and her determination to make her dreams come true.
Tianna now resides in Houston, Texas due to one of the worst natural disasters in U.S. history, Hurricane Katrina. She is currently attending the University of Houston-Downtown, studying arts administration.
Of her many accomplishments, Rhythmix Dance is one of the greatest. Rhythmix Dance is a new dance company that was founded in New Orleans in July 2004. Now the company calls Houston, TX home. She is the Founder, Artistic Director and Choreographer of the group.
