I have worked with many models over the years. You do not need to have experience in order to work with me. Here is what you can expect. You will always be treated with courtesy and in a professional manner. If you insist on bringing an escort with you, I ask that she/he be as unobtrusive as possible. I will have total respect for your time and ideas. And yes, your ideas are important.
If you bring a thumb drive of at least 16 Mb I will furnish you a set of low res images for your review as well as for the purpose of selecting images for your portfolio. Most models select between 6 and 10 images , which will take about a week to produce. I do use Photoshop for imaging purposes, but not for image alteration. In other words, I use it as I would have used tools in a chemical darkroom, correcting brightness, contrast, etc.
Photography is my second career. That phase of my life began when I finished my graduate degree in 1978 and left the world of commerce and entered into the photo profession and the world of teaching. I taught for 35 years as a full-time faculty member at Columbia College - Chicago. During all these years the subject of making images about the nude have stayed with me. My work can be roughly divided into "figurative art" and "expressive art" by a model. By "figurative art" I mean the body as in dynamic, expressive and beautiful poses; in "expressive art" it becomes more about the model's strong moods or powerful statements. Needles to say, my work is not about the adult industry or porn.
I am professor emeritus of photography at Columbia College-Chicago, where I taught classes in lighting and fashion photography. I still teach workshops on the nude throughout the United States. I have won numerous awards for my work, but now I am starting to boast. An article with 8 of my nudes appeared in Carrie Leigh's NUDE magazine - Winter 2010 issue. (www.carrieleigh.com); more current images are at my website and at Model Society (www.modelsociety.com/grandart), aswellas at www.DeviantArt.com/grandart
