About George F. Morgan


GF Morgan began taking photographs as a young boy. Armed with a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye and Kodak 620 film, he documented family events in New York and Maine. As a teenager he upgraded to a 35mm Pentax H1A and started developing his own black and white film. In high school he studied with fine art photographer Michael A. Smith and went on to New York University's prestigious School of the Arts. Moving to Pennsylvania in 1974, he took courses in photography with Emmet Gowin and then went on to take an Associates degree at the Antonelli Institute of Photography and Film.

In 1984, Morgan opened Northlight Photographic Studios in Doylestown, Pennsylvania where he both freelanced as a photojournalist for numerous local publications and operated a commercial photography studio for a diverse variety of clients both domestic and internationally.

His work has been featured in many different forums internationally and he has exhibited in numerous shows and galleries throughout the east coast.

In 2015, he relocated to the state of Maine.
